New Season's Greetings!

On November 30 we will launch our 3 week Christmas series for Tuesday Night THRIVE! We encounter a wide range of season's greetings as we head into the holidays. This year we are going to see what new season's greetings we might gain if we use scripture to shape our perspective on Christmas.

WEEK 1 - NOV 30

Title: Home for the Holidays

Scripture: Luke 10:38-42, Isaiah 7:14

Big Idea: Emmanuel is the point of the season, what does it look like to make room for “God with us” this Christmas?

Talk about it: We want to help students understand the importance of spending time with Him. Check in with your son or daughter and how their time with Him is going. Share about your own time, even if that means being real about your own lack of time spent with Him!

Talk about your hopes and goals for your family this Christmas season!

WEEK 2 - DEC 7

Title: Do Not Be Afraid

Scripture: Luke 1:5-13, 34, 38, 2:8-12, Matthew 1:21-21, 24

Big Idea: When you take fear out of the equation you are free to appreciate what Christmas really is: proof that God loves you, and has a plan and purpose for you

Talk about it: We want to help students understand that so much of the Christmas story revolves around God letting his people know that they do not need to be afraid. Fear holds us back from so many things, especially in relationship with each other.

Ask your son or daughter about where fear shows up in their life. Do they have any fears that keep them from intimate relationship with you as their parent or guardian? Be real about the role fear plays in your own life and talk about ways you can encourage one another!

WEEK 3 - DEC 14

Title: Come & See - Go & Tell

Scripture: Luke 2:15-20, Matthew 2:2,11

Big Idea: What is your response to Christmas going to be? Will you be silent, or will you come and see and go and tell?

Talk about it: We want to help students see for themselves the love and forgiveness that can only come from Jesus, and encourage them go and tell everyone what God has done for them. Ask your son or daughter what keeps them from coming to Jesus and what keeps them from telling others the good news?

Consider sharing times where you have kept silent because you were doing life on your own, or a time when you were obedient and God showed up in big ways.
