Spring Break Top 10!

If you you are looking for some fun family activities to do over spring break, check out this top 10 list from your youth leaders! They won't break the bank and they should create some laughter and memorable moments for the whole family.

  1. Rank the best tacos in Salem This is valuable and applicable knowledge to obtain! Who knows, a leader just might have to take your student out to lunch to test your conclusion.

  2. Coordinate & execute a prank as a family Combining the creativity and mischievousness of your students with the seasoned experience and wisdom garnered from your years of parenting (and possible depth of prank ideas from your own mischievousness...) you are bound to have a memorable spring break! THRIVE takes no responsibility for ensuing shenanigans!

  3. Hike Multnomah Falls Definitely a hike worth a day of your Spring break, if it's your first time or if it has been a couple years since your last visit.

  4. Go axe throwing Even though we know some of your children, and the thought of them brandishing axes gives us cause to panic, it still made the list! Axe throwing is a blast, and would make for a fun adventure for the whole family. The people at Oregon Axe are great and will help you have a safe and memorable time!

  5. Try an Escape room No, I am not talking about you trying to escape after a week of having your kids at home with no school... Put your family to the test as you work together to solve creative puzzles! Try Exitus Escape Room or Escape Tech!

  6. Bake & decorate a cake together Eating should be central to any good spring break! Bake and decorate a cake as a family or have a decorating challenge and have your friends vote for best decorated cake. If you need a taste tester give Caleb a call!

  7. Goodwill treasure or fashion hunt Set a price and time limit and set your family lose at your local Goodwill. Whoever finds the best treasure for the money wins. If you want to add some laughter, partner up and each person has to find the best outfit for their partner. Add yet another level and wear your outfits out for some ice cream at Dairy Queen. Please take pictures!

  8. Bowling @ The REC Bowling is a great family activity, even if you need the bumpers! Add a twist and play Golf scores, try to hit the least amount of pins without getting a gutter ball. Gutter balls are worth 10! Have fun while supporting a great cause at The REC.

  9. Teach a family favorite recipe to your teen and challenge them to make a meal for the family A great opportunity to pass on a valuable skill as well as a sneaky way to get out of making a meal over spring break!

  10. Take a trip to the Seaside Promenade We love the beach! The few extra miles to get to Seaside is worth the trip. Try one of these road trip games to help pass the time in the car.
